Last week Saturday (February 9th) my sophomore daughter finished her basketball season. The team has great chemistry, which afforded them a 19-1 record. Their one loss was to an intracity rival, and it was only by 1 point! It was disappointing because it would have been great to have an unblemished record, but it taught them how to lose gracefully. As a family, we are dealing with the polar vortex that is going on throughout the Midwest. This..is..not..fun! While I have lived in the Midwest my entire life, I have been to almost every major city within the US. Let’s just say, I am not a fan of winter but I have ties-that-bind me to where I live.
My 5’8″ daughter in a snow house she built, which has a back door to it. PILES of snow!
Lastly, the below is a great video that reminds me of what Sir Richard Branson says;
By putting your employees first, the customer effectively comes first by default, and in the end, the shareholder comes first by default as well. — Sir Richard Branson
The takeaway I get from this is when employers treat their employees well, (and like the video explains, not with “things,”) people are happier and more productive. It makes sense to me – how about you?
